David Breece Lt. Col, USAF, Ret'd: Pilot, 84th Bomb Squadron collection.

David Sessions Breece, Lt. Col, USAF, Ret'd
(8 Mar 1917 Fayetteville, NC - 12 Sep 2006 Groveland, CA)

Dave was raised in NC during the depression. He decided, while going to college, that if there was a war, he wanted to fly. Some of the men who graduated from flight training in AL, FL and GA with Dave continued with the 47th Bomb Group, 84th Squadron in North Africa and are found in these photos, including Major Stratton. At least two of his classmates, James Louis D'Agostino and Paul Simon, were lost to enemy fire. His first stateside assignment was in Long Beach, CA until the end of the war. After being recalled to service in the Korean conflict, he determined to remain in the USAF. When he retired he lived in the California gold rush country.

I'd like to thank my Dad for his diligence in recording his personal history during WWII so these veterans can be remembered.

I'd like to thank Mark O'Boyle for maintaining the 47th Bomb Group website so that I could learn more about my father's friends and experiences.

Family of veterans seen in these photos are invited to contact me. Barbara Breece Roesch, 2011. bjresh@roadrunner.com
